Assistant Manager – Human Resources

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with department heads and management to implement HR strategies that support business goals.
  • Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support organizational development initiatives and workforce planning.
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, selection, and offer management.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities to ensure a smooth and positive experience for new employees.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and attract high-quality talent.
  • Coordinate employee engagement initiatives to promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Support the implementation and administration of performance management processes.
  • Identify training and development needs and coordinate employee learning programs.
  • Oversee daily HR operations, ensuring accurate and timely HR administration.
  • Support the administration of compensation, benefits, leave management, and employee records.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, company policies, and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain HR documentation and HRIS records with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for employees on HR-related matters.
  • Assist in resolving employee concerns, grievances, and workplace issues in a fair and timely manner.
  • Promote a positive work environment through effective communication and employee support.
  • Maintain and update HR information systems (HRIS).
  • Prepare HR reports and workforce analytics to support management decision-making.
  • Monitor HR metrics and recommend process improvements where appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or professional qualification in Human Resource Management or a related discipline.
  • Professional HR certification will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Human Resources.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a supervisory or team leadership role is preferred.
  • Experience across recruitment, employee relations, HR operations, and performance management.
  • Strong knowledge of labour laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
  • Good negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HR Information Systems (HRIS).
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
