Job Overview:
The Finance Project Partner – New Business will act as the key financial liaison for new initiatives, ensuring comprehensive feasibility analysis, project accounting, and financial oversight. This role requires collaboration across finance, legal, operations, and research teams to support decision-making, secure funding, and manage project financial performance from inception to closure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation of detailed project feasibility reports by consolidating insights from research data, operational, and finance teams.

• Collaborate with internal finance, tax, and corporate finance teams to develop comprehensive financial feasibility assessments for new initiatives.

• Prepare and submit Board approval documentation for proposed projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

• Work closely with research agencies to gather relevant data and provide actionable management insights from analytics.

• Coordinate with the legal team to finalize finance-related clauses in project contracts.

• Review and maintain all project documentation, including contracts, guarantees, and letters of credit.

• Verify that contractors maintain insurance policies as required by project contracts.

• Liaise with banking partners and group treasury to secure necessary financial arrangements for project execution.

• Oversee all project-related payments, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and proper record-keeping.

• Provide periodic financial and performance reports (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly), including analysis of variances between actuals and budgets, and updated forecasts.

• Ensure timely closure of project accounts upon completion of projects.

• Prepare and submit all statutory government reports and tax returns related to project activities, in compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Undertake additional finance-related assignments as directed by the Accounting Supervisor, ensuring accuracy and adherence to organizational standards.

Person Specifications:

• Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK) or Chartered Institute of Sri Lanka with over 3 years’ experience in project accounting, feasibility studies, or data analytics.

• Strong understanding of financial modeling, feasibility preparation, project payments, project accounting, and financial behavior in a manufacturing or consulting environment.

• Knowledge of project management, IRR/ROI calculations, funding methods, import terms, related documents, and payment terms.

• Computer literate with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.

• Strong business acumen, analytical and innovative mindset, excellent communication (written & verbal), adaptability, negotiation, decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Attention to detail, ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and drive projects to completion.
