Job Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable and results-driven Hydroponic Agronomist to design, implement, and optimize hydroponic crop production systems within a Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) setting. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in plant physiology, nutrient management, and environmental control systems, with the ability to apply data-driven strategies to maximize crop yield, quality, and resource efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage hydroponic systems for a variety of crops, ensuring optimal growth conditions and efficient resource utilization.

  • Monitor plant health, nutrient solutions, irrigation systems, and environmental parameters to optimize crop performance.

  • Analyze crop data and environmental metrics to make informed, data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.

  • Develop and implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies to minimize pest and disease risks.

  • Collaborate with the Research & Development team to evaluate and test new hydroponic technologies, crop varieties, and cultivation techniques.

  • Train and mentor operational staff on hydroponic best practices, crop protocols, and system maintenance.

  • Maintain accurate records of crop cycles, yield performance, experiments, and system performance metrics.

  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in hydroponics and agronomy.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Science, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in hydroponic system design, operation, and troubleshooting within a Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) environment.

  • Strong understanding of plant physiology, nutrient formulation, fertigation systems, and environmental controls.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and crop monitoring software tools.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and present findings effectively.

  • Overseas or international work experience is an added advantage.
