Senior Marine Operations Executive – Ship Chandling & Port Operations

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Marine Operations Executive to manage ship chandling and port operations across Sri Lanka's commercial ports. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in vessel support services, port coordination, regulatory compliance, and client relationship management. This role requires close collaboration with shipping agents, the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA), Customs, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless vessel operations and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage ship chandling operations and provision supply services for vessels calling at commercial ports.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with shipping agents, vessel operators, port authorities, and key clients.
- Identify new business opportunities and support the growth of marine and port-related services.
- Liaise with the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA), Sri Lanka Customs, Immigration, and other regulatory authorities to obtain required approvals and ensure compliance.
- Coordinate vessel supply deliveries, ship spares clearance, crew sign-on/sign-off arrangements, waste disposal services, and other marine operational requirements.
- Manage all operational documentation, service records, regulatory paperwork, and compliance-related documentation.
- Coordinate with suppliers, transport providers, and internal teams to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
- Handle invoicing, billing, payment follow-ups, and maintain accurate financial and operational records.
- Provide on-site operational support during vessel arrivals, inspections, and client interactions.
- Ensure smooth execution of operations while maintaining high standards of customer service and regulatory compliance.
- Be available to support operational requirements outside normal working hours, including weekends and public holidays when required.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Maritime Studies, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in Ship Chandling, Marine Operations, Port Operations, or a related shipping industry role.
- Hands-on experience working with the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) and Sri Lanka Customs for operational approvals and clearance processes is mandatory.
- Strong communication and relationship management skills with shipping agents, vessel operators, suppliers, and government authorities.
- Excellent organizational, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to travel to outstation ports as operational requirements demand.
- Flexible to support 24/7 vessel operations when required.
